Caravan, written by Juan Tizol, performed by Haydn Huckle. Juan Tizol (31 December 1900 - 23 April 1984) was a Puerto Rican trombonist and composer. He was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and moved to the mainland United States in 1920. He worked with duke Ellington from 1929 to 1944 and it was during this period that he composed Caravan and "Perdido". After that he worked with the Harry James orchestra in California which allowed him to see his wife more often. In 1957 he was a guest on The Nat King Cole Show. He died in Inglewood, California on April 23, 1984.

I have put together this rendition of Henry Mancini's "The days Of Wine And Roses" which should appeal to Jazz musicians and enthusiasts alike.
Once again the emphasis is on Jazz improvisation, Chords, Harmony and the use of a lot of chord substitutes.I hope you like the Jazz piano piece.



Count Basie, Duke Ellington and Oscar Peterson are three of my favourite Jazz musicians. They are probably three of the greatest jazz pianists ever. I'm going to film a rarley played Count Basie number, called 'Blue and Sentimental' Written by Basie but not often heard.
